Mistletoe Magic part 1

It was nearly Christmas on the world of Mobius, Everyone was excited... Everyone that is except for one Sonic the hedgehog. His mind hadn't been on his usual track, it had nothing to do with stress on fighting Eggman, in fact Eggman hadn't been seen or heard from for a while... Sonic came to the conclusion that he guessed even Eggman took the holiday off. Sonic was lying on top of a hillside under a tree looking up into the clear starry moonlit winter night sky. He had been coming to this spot for a while, always late at night; he thought thinking at night was better to get a clear idea, where almost everything was asleep, quiet. He had missed a lot of time hanging out with his friends, always disappearing when nightfall came, they sure were all worried about him, Tails actually came up to him not too long ago asking if he was a werehog again, he felt sorry for making them worry even Amy, yeah sure he didn't love her but she still was a friend even though she stalked him.

It wasn't a cold winter night but not as warm as the summer and spring ones, he just laid there trying to think things through, asking himself the same question over and over again.
"What's wrong with me? Why can't I think straight? It's like I... Don't want to run anymore, I get the feeling like I'm missing something, am I  going nuts!?"
His mind had been like this for over three months and it had just got worse, what started as a niggling thought now had come to loom and surround his every thought.
"What the heck happened? I don't get it, okay hedgehog think back, when did it all start?" he asked himself aloud. He closed his eyes to focus then went into a flashback.

It was 3 months ago, at Tails's workshop, he and Tails were standing in front of a big metal ring with flashing blue red and green lights and facing the two heroes was the lilac feline princess Blaze the cat. She was from another dimension yet the talented two tailed technician had somehow created a machine that could allow passage to both worlds at anytime desired. But something had gone horribly wrong, the machine had a malfunction on its first try and needed to close meaning Blaze would have to leave and return to her own dimension, but she didn't want to leave and neither did Sonic want her to, it had been so long since he had seen her, now he wouldn't see her again for a for long period of time. he felt more upset this time then he had the last two times he and her were forced to say goodbye, they never had the opportunity to sit down and get to know one another, this had always burned inside him since the first time they had met, maybe that's why he felt so attracted to be with her, curiosity acted like a magnet to him to Blaze's presence, just so curious to work out the mystery that was the lilac cat.

Before Blaze left she hesitated to step forward, she had the same feelings as Sonic, she wanted to discover what made him tick, how and why he acts like he does even in the face of danger, wanting to know everything about him, cause for some reason she felt attracted to his company. But despite all that all she wanted to do was to spend time with Sonic and explore his world... Only with Sonic. But was upset that once again he and she were separated because of their separate worlds. She could clearly see Sonic didn't want to her to go so before she took the first reluctant steps back home she ran back to him and hugged him, Sonic was shocked, Blaze. A girl who the last times had only reluctantly extended for a hand shake and was now hugging him tightly without any doubt or fear in her movement.

(Back to Now Sonic)
He remembered the first time they had to say goodbye, the space rift tearing them away from each other. Sonic was hanging on to Blaze refusing to let her go, when something snapped him away he could only watch in despair as his new friend was whisked away to only her old life of sollidute, but when his vision became blinded by light and had to close his eyes he felt something wet and so warm touch on his lips, he thought it was water vapor or something, it couldn't of been a kiss... could it? Not from Blaze? The second time he had to leave her she only gave the same nervous handshake as before. But then again the whole coconut crew was behind her at the time, she as a princess couldn't be seen kissing an outsider let alone a commoner... Could she?
"A kiss?... No way she wouldn't do that... Not with me... She's probably already got a prince who she loves... She's probably happy...... Good for her. If she's happy...I'm happy" he found it hard to say those last words, why?

(Back to flashback)
Sonic blushed slightly and then returned the hug just as tight, he felt so happy yet sad at the same time, he was happy to see her but now didn't want her to leave him, then Blaze spoke but it was through misery yet determination,
"I'll find a way back... somehow I will..." she said on Sonic's shoulder,
"Yeah we'll keep trying here, right little bro!" Over Sonic's shoulder Blaze saw Tails put the thumbs up reassuring her.
"You bet Sonic! I'll get this thing back to work soon" Tails said.
Blaze reluctantly pulled away Sonic didn't want to let go either but they had to...again, but before they releashesed hands Sonic spoke trying to Give Blaze more hope.
"Hey, you know what they say about 3rd times right Blaze" Blaze knew the answer to that old saying,
"They're the charm" she said softly,
"Yep so this time when you leave this will be the last goodbye, because I don't care where you are, nothings gonna stop me from seeing you again not even a difference in worlds, and when we do find ya we ain't goin nowhere, Right Tails!" they both looked back to Tails to see him smiling,
"You know it" he reassured them,
"Hey and when I find ya there will be no spatial rift, no dimension hole time limit, nothing, cause Isn't it rude to suddenly leave a princess hangin" Sonic said smirking and scratching his nose, Blaze though frond from being reminded of being a higher class, one of her "curses" that secluded her in the first place. Sonic saw this he felt slightly guilty and didn't want her to leave on a sour note feeling sad,
"Point is Blaze, when we come together again we'll be able to have a normal conversation, you know without the whole "Saving the two worlds stuff" cause I want to get to know you"
Blaze's smile returned Sonic did feel the same way,
"And I you Sonic" she said softly she looked down to see their hands were still clasped together Blaze looked down to the ground as she blushed while Sonic looked to his side blushing as well, they were snapped out of their thoughts when Tails shouted at them.

"Sonic! The machine can't stay on for much longer, it has to shut down... it's time to say goodbye... Goodbye Blaze" his goodbye was soft and polite. Sonic and Blaze both reluctantly let go of each other and Blaze turned to walk up the mini flight of stairs. She was sad to be going and hearing no last goodbye from Sonic... Until she heard Sonic again,
"Hey Blaze!" she turned round to see Sonic having his trademark grin,
"First one to find the others world gets first dibs on where they want to go!" Sonic was throwing down a race; Blaze was happy, Sonic still acted like himself even in a heartfelt goodbye,
"Yes, it's a deal" she agreed, Sonic got a more confident grin on his face,
"Nope, (jumped on top of the stares and in front of Blaze and extended his hand) that's a promise"
"Huh?" Blaze said she was confused,
"Because, I'm gonna get to your world first remember I'm the fastest thing in the world," he said smugly Blaze decided to retort back out of friendly banter,
"Hpmm, yeah, in your world but in the universe you're a snail compared to me, so you better not get comfy because this cat is gonna beat you" she said filled with confidence, she had never bantered before, to say what she wanted with out the use of princessy high class language, she felt so good and so free. Sonic liked hearing Blaze like that and responded.
"Hmmm you know that has a nice ring to it "Blaze the Queen of Speed"... But as good as it sounds I'm still gonna win"
"Hmm we'll see hedgehog" Blaze teased and then they shook hands sealing the deal. The race was officially on.

"...Goodbye Blaze...See you soon" Sonic said now slightly depressed knowing it was time.
"...Good... Bye Sonic." Blaze stepped forward but Sonic sort of followed her to the portal in the ring, for some reason still holding her hand. Before Blaze stepped into it she finally realized that Sonic was still there, she was about to speak but Sonic beat her to it by hugging her,
"See you soon, Ok? I Promise" Sonic said abnormally soft, Blaze though liked it, and she purred back. Sonic let go of Blaze's hand and she stepped into the portal, and an extremely bright light flashed before Sonic forcing him and Tails to shield their eyes with their arms, almost immediately after, Sonic felt a wet and warm feeling on his left cheek. Then when the light vanished... Along with the female feline. Sonic gently rubbed his cheek to see what that feeling was but there was nothing. Seconds passed like minutes both Sonic and Tails were lost for words and actions. Sonic sighed heavily sort of in acceptance that Blaze was gone, for now unable to come back.
"...Well... No time to just stand around, let's get to work, can't let Blaze get ahead of us." Sonic finally spoke up trying to stay in the mood he just was when Blaze was still there,
"Alright Sonic, it'll take a lot of time but I'm sure we can-" Tails opened his eyes to see Sonic wasn't in front of him,
"Sonic?" Tails looked around and he wasn't there, when he looked behind him he saw Sonic walking out the door... Away from the job.
"Sonic where you going? The teleporters here" Tails yelled Sonic looked back still having his grin.
"Uh, I'm gonna go talk to Knuckles, maybe the Master emerald can do something,"
"Oh, good idea... Ok you do that I'll get started here," Sonic gave the thumbs up and ran outside and super speed... But heading nowhere near to Angel Island and Knuckles, just in a random direction.

Sonic didn't know why, he just felt like... He had to run. Just keep on running and running, his mind was confused he couldn't think of anything like his mind was frozen, just stuck in place, he went running through the nearby forest, after a few minutes he suddenly came to a halt, something caught his eye, he looked up to a hill with a tree on top, he felt weirdly attracted to that spot and started to walk towards the top, then the flashback ended.
(Whitening out ending Flashback)

Sonic opened his eyes half way slowly and looked down.
"...Blaze?..." He said kinda depressed he looked up to the stars; he suddenly clicked, that was when it all started, when Blaze left. The curiosity was still eating at him, he pictured her face in the sky, her turning around having a soft welcoming smile he didn't know why but she seemed... Prettier then he had realized before. Thoughts were now racing through his head trying to get a grasp of why he felt this way.
"Hmm, I don't what's going on with me...maybe it's one of Blaze's other powers, maybe she's able to confuse or heck maybe even hypnotize foes to not think straight and not act like themselves........ I wonder........I wanna find out, she probably did that to get ahead in our race. Hm, I guess behind that calm cool exterior hides a plotting feline... I wonder how she is." Sonic starred at the night stars, he all of a sudden saw a star that stood out of all the rest, it shone so much brighter and it seemed so close...... A little too close,
"What the?..." Sonic gawked at it, it was getting brighter and... Closer!
"Whoa! It's like it's headin this way what kinda star is that?"  he put his hand above his eyes to try and get a better view,
"Hang on. That's not a star that's...(he suddenly panicked) A METEOR!!!" Sonic nipped up and took cover behind the tree, The meteorite's light became a flash as it became a couple of feet from the ground forcing to Sonic to shut his eyes, then... CRASHHHH!!!!!!!
The ground on top of the hill shook like an earthquake Sonic along with it. Couple of seconds after, everything went calm; Sonic opened his eyes getting ready to put his guard up. He looked over to where he had sat before and there was thick smoke all over the place, he just watched as the smoke began to thin out keeping a keen eye for any sign of a threat, but when all the smoke cleared... What he saw was far from a threat.
There, In front of him, standing firm, looking up to the same stars as he had before, was the lilac feline princess.

He was awed at the sight and that was only the back of her, he suddenly came to notice how her fur sorta reflected and shone in the pale moonlight, he liked it, better then Amy, way better. Then he heard her speak course she didn't know he was there, her voice was like a beautiful melody to his ears, it had been so long,
"I - I can't believe it, I'm actually here, I made it... Hmm what a lovely view... But it's not as beautiful as when I see Sonic... Now... Where is that hedgehog?" his mind froze on those words "seeing him, beautiful?" what the heck did she mean? But quickly he got a devious idea, he hid back behind the tree and spoke loudly just enough for her to hear in a deep voice,
"Sonic?... Oh you mean that completely awesome way past cool hedgehog? The one that saves the world so many times? Yeah he's cool alright, man I wish I could be him," he was trying not to laugh from flattering himself, Blaze turned round to of course see no one was there, she got suspicious but didn't show it,
"Who's there!? Do you really know Sonic? Do you know where I might be able to find him?" Sonic tried to keep quiet trying harder not to laugh he was having too much fun. Blaze on the other hand wasn't humored, she ignited her hands.
"Alright show yourself! Do not fool me! Or you'll regret it!" Sonic saw the increase and flickering light on the ground; he knew she was starting to get ticked,
"Whoa! Calm down, Sonic wants to see you too, but he doesn't want to see you like that" Sonic said keeping the deep voice as well as the act, Blaze's fire died down.
"What?! How do you know that?" She asked letting her suspicion show, Sonic gave up on the act, and he dropped the deep voice,
"Because- (Sonic stepped out of hiding with a cheeky smile while chuckling, Blaze's anger disappeared and was replaced with disbelief) You're hearing it right from the hedgehogs mouth ha ha" he approached Blaze with his trademark smile, Blaze was embarrassed that she fell for one of Sonic's pranks when she should of seen it coming soon as she entered his world.
"Long time no see Blaze. Man. Whew that was good, ha ha, should have seen your face... The flames were a bit over the top though" him being sarcastic Blaze did think about it and to found it funny.
"Oh you" she said playfully pushing Sonic's shoulder, they looked at each other for a couple of seconds and then hugged each other, it felt so good to feel the other after such a long time. While Sonic was enjoying the hug Blaze let out a piece of info,
"I win." she said cheekily,
"What?" Sonic said
"I got to your world first, I won our race. I beat you" Blaze replied now sounding smug and cheekier,
"Wha?- I- Uh- but-......Dang." Sonic was lost for words but he had to admit it, for the first time ever Sonic the hedgehog had lost a race, but for some reason he didn't mind. Not when it was Blaze he lost to. Sonic pulled away still seeing Blaze's victorious smile,
"First time for everything blue boy" she said still being cheeky, Sonic didn't mind she had sort of a right to gloat beating him and all, he had an idea.

"Alright you're the flash fire and you beat me there happy? Now come on let's go see Tails, that little guy's been workin non stop on that teleporter, I think he'll be ecstatic to hear he can relax, and then we'll go see the others" Sonic started to walk down the hill but Blaze stayed put.
"No" she said sounding playful but yet serious in some way. Sonic looked back in confusion,
"Wha? Why not?" Blaze crossed her arms looking annoyed like Sonic had done something wrong, Blaze had then put on a soft smile then she started to wag her finger then she winked.
"I won remember, and we agreed whoever won had first pick on the place to go" she said teasing holding her wink.
Sonic remembered, he sighed and gave in,
"Alright... Where d'ya wanna go?" He asked
"hmmm, how bout... Your place" she said making her choice,
"My place?" Sonic questioned being slightly taken back by her choice,
"Yeah... It's kinda cold and I'm kinda tired from the trip"
"Trip?" Sonic said sounding confused,
"I'll explain later once we're at your home," Blaze answered quickly,
"Oh, okay well come on," Sonic said again starting to walk down the hill.
"Ahem" Blaze retorted sounding annoyed Sonic again looking back seeing Blaze with her hands on her hips,
"Now what?" Sonic asked being worried, what point was he missing?
"You're impossible... I don't know my way around here." Blaze sounded annoyed, Sonic got the point.
"Ohhh, so you need a personal tour guide" Sonic said playfully
"Uh... Yes...I susspose" She said but she slightly blushed she wasn't expecting him to put it that way. Sonic's trademark smile returned and came back to Blaze,
"Well. In that case, I'll give it to ya. In Sonic Style" Sonic started to reach for Blaze's hand.
"Huh? What's Sonic styiEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!" Before Blaze could finish her sentence Sonic had took her hand and already took off at sonic speed.

Over a few minutes Sonic had slown down for Blaze to relax, as she ran behind him still holding his hand. She liked every moment she had spending time with him her only problem was "if only he didn't move so fast", she just saw green scenery fly past her, she looked up into the night sky seeing the stars glint and shimmer to her view on the ground below, but even they were starting to gradually fly by. She then turned her attention back to the royal blue speeder giving her a high speed trip to his home, she felt the warm soft yet firm grip of his hand, she couldn't help but blush, she was glad he was too busy running for him to notice. Weirdly she felt like she wanted to slip into daydreams of her and Sonic, but she couldn't, she was interrupted by her blue tour guide,
"We are reaching the end of the tour, please mind your step" Sonic said trying to sound like he was on a intercom, before Blaze could react Sonic started skidding to a halt, when Sonic stopped Blaze was still moving too fast and her momentum launched her over Sonic, she somersaulted forward expecting to fall on the ground, but no, next thing she knew she was being caught by Sonic, he landed holding Blaze in his arms in bridal style. Blaze looked up to his face, her face was blushing bright red,
"Th-Thank you" she said calmly trying not to show her blushing emotions show Sonic just smiled softly down to her,
"No problem. After all it's a tour guide's number one priority to keep the guests safe... Not good for business if someone gets hurt... Especially if it's a pretty princess" Sonic said in his usual tone. Blaze's face had now gone red as a tomato, she wasn't sure what made her blush more the fact that she was in Sonic's arms or that he called her pretty to her face. For a quick escape she playfully punched him in the stomach, but just enough to force him to put her down.
"Och! What was that for?" Sonic wined slightly, rubbing his stomach,
"Next time give a better warning" Blaze said again sounding annoyed,
"But I caught ya didn't I?" Sonic retorted playfully,
"Yes. But isn't it a bit rude to take a lady's hand without asking" Blaze said regaining her newly found playful attitude,
"Whatever happened to the whole I don't like being treated like a princess thing?" Sonic responded said out of wit and with a little bit of curiosity, Blaze then had a cheeky smile,
"True. But I still wish to be respected and treated like a lady... And yes a princess and a lady are two different things."
"Yeah... I don't know much about the importance ladder, a persons a person to me" Sonic said being modest,
"Really?" Blaze on the other hand was temporally speechless she realized what they were doing, they were getting to know each other, and she Loved the first thing she heard, Sonic liked and cared for someone regardless of Background and Title. Blaze could feel herself starting to blush again, Sonic spoke again,
"Yeah I'm kind to everyone, weather they're rich or poor... I think that's what your royalty call chivalry" Blaze again was found speechless but she couldn't just stay quiet,
"Ohhh someone's a smarty, I would of thought that was a big word for you "chivalry"" She said teasing him.
"HEY! What's that's supposed to mean?" Sonic said happily but a little surprised
"Oh I just thought someone of your style and your attitude wouldn't know of such words that would be used by knights and kings and queens of old times" she answered sounding very cheeky and... A little posh.
"Oh reeeaallly, well then there's lots you don't know about me" Sonic responded sounding arrogant Blaze on the other hand thought she upset him,
"Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you, really I didn't mean any of it! Please I'm sorry" she said sounding completely guilty like she was to blame, she knew what she had done, she insulted Sonic after he had greeted her so kindly,
"Sorry? Hey we were only having fun,-"
"But I-" Blaze Interrupted still thinking she was to blame,
"That's what banter is about Blaze, you can joke around with someone and they know you don't mean it... I think you been sealed in your royal palace a little too long, there see it's easy. And you can say anything to me I won't mind, and... To be honest, that was pretty good for one of your first times," Blaze didn't know what to say she was so confused; Sonic was applauding her for insulting him?
"I just don't understand your world," she said now depressed, Sonic didn't want Blaze to be sad, not after just coming here.
"Hey don't worry, if you hang around with me long enough you'll get the hang of it, it tends to rub off on everyone I know... Well anyway here we are, the highlight of our tour, CA SA DE Sonic" Sonic reassured her placing his arm over her shoulder going back to his tour guide like attitude, while they looked at his home, a small hut, she couldn't help but slightly blush again, he was offering to stay in her company and... Teach her, how to be a normal girl.
"I'd like that, I really would, UH- (Blaze realized what she was saying and quickly removed herself from him and changed the subject) Thank you for your tour"
Blaze bowed showing her gratitude Sonic seemed annoyed,
"Oh you're welcome-(when Blaze bowed politely like a proper princess) But... Lesson one, you don't have to bow to say thank you, you just say thanks, okay?" Blaze stood up straight, her instincts always did what they were told when learning, even if it was from a friend.
"Oh right. Sorry"
"and another thing, you don't need to apologize......unless you eat my chilidogs then you have to apologize," Sonic continued trying to make Blaze laugh,
"Um... Ok" Blaze said sounding embarrassed for being so clueless,
"Whoa... Hey, don't worry, everything starts with a single step, it takes time... Don't worry you'll be acting like us before you know it." Sonic smirked, Blaze calmed down and decided to try and banter again,
"Hm rich coming from you, you never slow down, and you are always impatient, maybe you should take your own advice, and...I don't know, is acting like you a good or a bad thing?" she said cheekily, slightly laughing,
"haha Ya see? there you go, now didn't that feel good?" Sonic said, Blaze couldn't lie it did feel good to say whatever she wanted,
"Yes... It does, it feels wonderful... Thank you Sonic... And... Thanks again for the tour". She said, Sonic chuckled,
"Anytime, the Supersonic sight seeing tour is always at your service." Sonic then bowed to Blaze which put her back in confusion.
"What was that?" she asked filled with confusion and curiosity,
"Huh?" Sonic stood back up not being sure what she meant,
"You just said you don't have to bow, but you just did... Why?"
"Meh It's one of my personal rules," Sonic responded with that usual smirk,
"Which is?" Blaze asked, interested and so keen to know more about Sonic,
"Always offer service and respect to all visiting princess's from another dimension... Preferably the lilac feline type." Blaze thought for a split second and realized she fit his description; he made that rule especially for her.
"Oh Sonic," she said admiring his kindness, Sonic started to walk to the front door of his house.
"Come on let's go in, can't have you freezing now can I,"
"Oh?... Ok" Blaze answered nervously, her heart was racing, and she was actually being invited into his home. Sonic opened the door outwards and stepped aside allowing her to enter first,
""Ladies" first" Sonic said politely putting an emphasis on Ladies, Blaze smiled and stepped forward and through and into the house of the blue hedgehog.

It was slightly bigger then it looked from the outside, she looked upon what seemed to be the lounge area with a couch in the centre, to the right of it was a kitchen, beyond the lounge there were 2 rooms which seemed to be the bathroom and the bedroom, she looked up to see a light on the ceiling and a big sky light which showed the star lit sky. She slowly spun around to get a full view of her new surroundings, she felt sort of hounerd to be in his home,
"...Sorry" Blaze looked back to see it was Sonic who said that, he had shut the door behind him but had his head down looking depressed,
"For what?" she asked showing worry,
"You're so used to giant palaces, personal servants, and the best of everything... This is a giant step-down for you," he said feeling guilty not being able to provide the lifestyle that she was used to.
"No! Don't be, I like it I really do, it's cozy... And I really didn't like giant palaces... Too much walking, and I never wanted personal servants I've always been independent...Please Sonic don't be sad I don't care, really" She pleaded trying to cheer Sonic up. Sonic took a deep breath,
"Okay, if you say so... But if I need to... I don't mind being your personal servant for a while". He said regaining his normal attitude,
"I'm serious" Blaze said sounding serious but yet keeping her playful tone,
"I know I'm just sayin" Sonic said showing his confident smile,
"Hmm" Blaze murmured giving the same smile back. They stayed silent for a couple seconds and just looked at each other; Sonic suddenly remembered Blaze was his guest.
"Hey Blaze why don't you relax and I'll go fix us some hot coco" Sonic said gesturing Blaze to sit on the couch,
"Oh, Uh, Yes please, that would be nice, thank you" Blaze replied, blushing slightly, Blaze couldn't understand, she had blushed more times in this night then she had all her life, she couldn't help it, every time Sonic was kind to her she automatically blushed. Sonic went over to the kitchen while Blaze went over to the couch, she carefully sat down trying her best to disturb Sonic's environment as little as possible, she sat up straight and put her hands on her lap immediately going back to her natural behavior when being a guest.

As much as she knew she shouldn't but she couldn't resist looking around her. In front of her was a fireplace currently out, above it was a 22 inch TV, surrounding it were loads of pictures, most of them contained him but they were with all his other friends, Tails, Knuckles, Amy (but he didn't look too thrilled in that picture cause Amy was jumping on him), the Chaotixs, Cream, even one with Shadow and even he was slightly smiling, and many more. But something caught her eye; a blank space was in the mood board like wall of memories, almost like... Something was missing; she scanned round the pictures again and noticed... There wasn't one of him and her. She wasn't upset she understood why, they never had the opportunity to have one taken, but she was curious, if that space was for one of her why have a space? Any picture could take that place, was it really that important to save a space for it? Before she could think anymore Sonic came back with two cups of steaming hot coco in hand,
"Here" Sonic said handing her one of the cups,
"Thank you" she said taking one and wrapping both hands around it feeling the warmth of the cup. Sonic came and sat down next to her laying back and looked through the skylight but quickly turned to Blaze as she took the first sip of the coco,
"How is it?" Sonic asked slightly concerned, waiting for her verdict, Blaze finished her sip and smiled contently,
"It's delicious," she said sounding completely at peace almost with affection,
"Really?" Sonic asked in surprise, in his mind breathing a sigh of relief,
"Yes (she took another sip) this is the best coco I've had," she looked up to him with a soft smile; they each went back to their coco until after a minute Sonic spoke up again.
"So Blaze... How did you get here anyway?" Sonic asked remembering Blaze said she would explain how when they were at his home,
Blaze stayed silent for a while not sure on what to say,
"Um... I used... The sol emeralds... They transported me here"
"Oh yeah... I forgot if you're here... Who's guarding the emeralds?" Sonic asked, Blaze smiled, she closed her eyes, and in a flash the 7 sol emeralds appeared before her, Sonic was flinched back from the burst of
Light, Blaze opened her eyes and the emeralds fell softly into her lap,
"Wow cool trick! Wish I could do that with the chaos emeralds" Sonic said sounding impressed, which made Blaze feel better,
"So you can keep the emeralds with you anytime, anyplace? That's awesome!" Sonic said he to was happy that he was getting to know Blaze, Sonic then looked at the fireplace, and he stood up,
"I'm gonna light the fire, give me a sec" Sonic bent down, when all of a sudden a flick of flame came past him and in an instant the fire was lit. Sonic looked to see Blaze blowing her finger which produced steam and her having a smug smile,
"Heh... Forgot about that" Sonic said feeling embarrassed. Sonic got back to his feet and again sat down next Blaze and continued to drink their coco. They stayed silent, Blaze gave random glances over to Sonic, she decided to feed her curiosity.
"Soo... What's been going on here while I've been gone?" she asked,
"Meh not much, Eggman hasn't been seen for ages, there's been nothing to do to except plan for the party."
"Party?" Blaze asked now even more curious,
"Yeah, we always hold a party on the 25th of December,"
"Why that day?" She asked completely forgetting about the season,
"You know Christmas day, we do it to spend time with each other after we all open our presents at Christmas and do our own thing,"
"Christmas?..." she said seeming confused
"WHAT?! Don't tell me you don't have Christmas over in your world?" he said seeming shocked,
"No, we do... It's just... I never experienced any Christmas events...... I was always guarding the sol emeralds... I never could take time off and enjoy it," Sonic fell silent, without warning he slid closer to Blaze and hugged her.
"I'm sorry... I didn't know" he said now feeling guilty for not taking her feelings seriously, Blaze couldn't believe what she was feeling, Sonic, a person who was always happy was now blaming himself for misunderstanding her,
"It's ok. Sonic, I know you didn't," Sonic took a deep breath and pulled away from Blaze, still feeling slightly guilty.

They went back to drinking their coco not speaking to each other, Blaze finished hers first she glanced over to see Sonic was guzzling down the last of his she couldn't help but slightly admire how peaceful and laid-back he was, when Sonic gulped down the last of his coco he looked over to Blaze and noticed her cup was also empty, Sonic stood up,
"Finished?" he asked her
"Yes Thank you that was delicious" she replied smiling, Sonic took the cup from her along with his and took them back to the kitchen and dropped in the washing bowl then walked back and sat back down next Blaze again. There was an awkward silence between them both not knowing what to say, Sonic suddenly felt tired he stretched his arms above his head and yawned, Blaze thought it was a bit rude
"Oh well, that's Sonic" she thought.
"Man, I'm bushed... Think I'll call it a day" Sonic said finishing his yawn; Blaze yawned slightly covering her mouth trying to agree with Sonic,
"... Yeah I am tired too" Blaze stood up
"Goodnight Sonic" Blaze then started to walk back to the front door,
"Whoa! Hey where ya goin Blaze? She turned back to see Sonic stood up from the couch.
"You're not staying?" he asked politely Blaze's eyes widened,
"What!?" She said being shocked about what Sonic was proposing,
"You're not gonna crash here with me tonight?" Sonic asked slightly worried,
"Well... I... Um" She trailed off thinking of an answer,
"Come on Blaze, its late and cold outside and you got nowhere else to stay" Sonic said sounding insistent,
"Well... Alright... I guess I could... If that's ok with you" Blaze said sounding nervous, this was turning into one of if not the best day of her life, not only was she in Sonic's world she had been invited into his home and now had been offered to sleep in it.
"Course it is why wouldn't it be? It's not in the Christmas spirit if I leave a pretty princess out in the cold on Christmas Eve" Blaze tilted her head in confusion,
"What's Christmas eve?" she asked
"The day before Christmas" He answered, Blaze laughed and giggled, this time Sonic tilted his head in confusion,
"What's so funny?" he curiously, Blaze attempted to stop laughing,
"It's just that Christmas eve. That would mean everyday is like an eve of Christmas" She started to laugh again Sonic saw it funny and started laughing as well. After a minute they finally stopped and regained their breath,
"Alright... Time to hit the hay" Sonic said walking toward the bedroom, Blaze not knowing what to do followed Sonic but felt like something else made her follow him. They entered his bedroom, there was a single four poster bed above it was a big skylight like the one in the lounge to the right was a desk and a wardrobe. Sonic went over to the wardrobe and took out an extra blanket and pillow, Blaze went over to Sonic and grabbed hold of them but Sonic pulled them away from her,
"What are you doing?" she asked slightly taken back
"Whaddya mean? These are for me." Blaze's eyes widened
"What do you mean for you?" she asked again
"Cause you got the bed and I'm on the couch" Blaze's eyes widened even further,
"You're giving your bed for me to sleep in? Why? Isn't this your home?" She said still feeling the shock,
"Yeah but you're my guest, and a beautiful princess should never sleep on something that isn't a bed" he replied softly
"Th- Th- thank you... Wait what?" Blaze was lost for words from Sonic's kindness but what did he call her just then? Sonic realized what he just said and tried to avoid it,
"Uh... Ah...Nothing, the bed is yours" he started to walk back to the wardrobe hiding the fact that he was blushing, when he shut it something on top fell into his hair but he didn't notice. He turned back round to face Blaze when he faced her she laughed,
"What? What's so funny?" she tried to stop giggling,
"Your head, you gotta plant on your head" she said trying to stop giggling, Sonic looked in the mirror on the desk and indeed he did have a sort of plant on his head, the stem was in his hair and the leaves were sprouting on top the kind of plant he instantly recognized. Sonic suddenly felt a wild temptation burn inside, for some reason feeling like he had to do something; he walked back to Blaze and was stuck on what to do,
"Hey... Blaze... do know what the plant is?" he cooed slightly,
"Uh... It's a... (Blaze moved closer to Sonic to see) Mistletoe?" her eyes widened, she got the same crazed temptation as Sonic did,
"You know what it means when two people stand under it?" Sonic cooed again but slightly worried he would get a slap from her if she did, but even if she didn't she might when he told her.

Blaze was frozen in place she did know what it meant, her heart was racing feeling it might bounce right out of her chest, she tried her best to speak.
"Th- Th- they- they ki- kiss?" she said after getting past all her sudden stuttering, Sonic started to move his head slowly towards her still surprised that she hadn't already slapped him at this point. Blaze wasn't sure what was next she didn't copy his movement because of it, Sonic got closer he closed his eyes his heart was too racing the closer he got. Blaze was nervous but the burning temptation begged her not to hide she couldn't resist it she closed her eyes and moved her head forward to and waited to find him... Then she did. A surge rushed through both of them, feeling each others lips meet, Blaze felt like she was going to faint this WAS the happiest day of her life, it hit her hard, it was finally clear she loved him, he was everything to her this feeling proved it. Sonic loved this feeling, but it felt familiar, he scanned this feeling to when he ever felt it before, wet, warm, everything at peace, where? Where had he felt this?.. He clicked... His theory was right all along.

They pulled apart Blaze though gasping for breath not wanting it to end,
"It was you" Sonic said softly, Blaze just looked at him heart still racing from what just transpired now wondering what he meant,
"It was you... You kissed me when the dimension rip tore us apart on our first goodbye" Blaze suddenly went bright red,
"And when you stepped through the portal 3 months ago you kissed me"
Blaze had gone the brightest red; he had discovered her past affection towards him she started to cry.
"YES. IT WAS ME! I COULDN'T HELP IT... I- I- I LOVE YOU SONIC!! I REALIZE I ALWAYS HAVE. YOU'RE EVERYTHING I NEED AND ALL I COULD EVER WANT... I LOVE YOU! PLEASE SAY YOU LOVE ME! PLEASE BE MINE! She kept crying lowering her head... She felt something warm wrap around her. She opened her teary eyes to see royal blue... Sonic was hugging her.
She looked up to his emerald eyes filled with affection,
"If that's what the princess desires. I love you too Blaze, I want to be yours too" He cooed but in a way that comforted her, Blaze couldn't believe her eyes she knew Sonic meant. Yes!

Blaze continued to cry but it was no longer out of embarrassment it was now because the hedgehog she loved said he loved her back. She wrapped herself around him tightly scared that something would separate them again. Sonic having her in his arms had an ephani, she was what he was missing, being without her all this time is what caused him to lose himself, he couldn't be himself without her... He loved her.
"OH SONIC!" she said crying into Sonic's shoulder
"Please don't cry Blaze" he pleaded but Blaze couldn't help it
"I Ju- Ju- just don't wa-want to lose you again... Not now" she said as she started to calm down, Sonic started to sway gently to try and calm her down further,
"Shhh, it's ok, I'm not going anywhere, I promised you didn't I? I will never leave you, not now not ever, you're not alone... You never will be now." Sonic wrapped himself tighter around her being just as determined not to lose her. Eventually Blaze managed to stop crying but she still was wiping them, Sonic pulled his head away to look at her,
"Come on; look at you full of tears. That's not the strong girl I love" Sonic kissed her on the forehead, Blaze kept her head on his shoulder,
"I just can't believe this is really happening" she said finally becoming calm, she pulled her head off his shoulder into his emerald eyes again and that trademark smile.
"Well believe it, its happnin baby" Blaze blushed and slightly giggled from being called baby,
"You really love me" Blaze said sounding relieved
"Yeah, you're the only who's done what no one else has" Sonic responded sounding completely at peace,
"What?" she asked anxious to hear what she had done to her new love
"You've tamed my heart. You've made me slow down and notice what I've been missing" he answered her sounding content and full of love.
Before Sonic could say anymore Blaze planted her lips on him and began to kiss again. Blaze's force made Sonic fall on the bed along with her being still being clamped to him and landed on top of him. When Blaze pulled her lips from him and then a second later planted them again, Sonic loved but felt weird, third time she released her lips Sonic spoke up.
"Whoa take it easy Blaze" he said gasping for breath from the rush of affection,
"No" she replied deviously playful and went straight back to kissing him, after a few more seconds she released again,
"Whoa what's gotten into you Blaze?" he asked trying to figure out her sudden transformation,
"There's nothing you can do Sonic, as long as you got that mistletoe on your head I can kiss you as many times as I want." she replied deviously Sonic quickly remembered he still had it on his head and smirked,
"Oh, no, Blaze, Please let me go" Sonic said sarcastically
"No. You can't run, I love you Sonic, you can't escape" she replied in a cheeky evilish way. Then she pushed her lips back on to Sonic's and then began to make out.

After 5 minutes of making out they finally got off each other,
"Wow... What just happened?" Blaze asked looking bemused on what just occurred between the two.
"You just went kiss crazy, it's natural I mean being around me and all" Sonic said acting cocky, Blaze punched Sonic's shoulder, she heard him say "oh" under his breath.
"But seriously Blaze what happened?" he asked, Blaze paused for a second,
"I don't know, I just felt like something came over me and... I just had to kiss you... You don't mind do you?" she asked sounding worried,
"Nah I wouldn't wanna kiss anyone else... And you're an awesome kisser" Blaze blushed,
"Hmm you're not so bad yourself Sonic the hedgehog" she said arrogantly. She then yawned out of nowhere and Sonic chuckled,
"Well, from that I'm guessing it's time to go to bed at let that beautiful face get some shut eye. (Yawn) goodnight Blaze." Sonic started to walk back to lounge ready to shut the door so she could have privacy to get undressed and slip into bed but...
"Please don't go" said a pleading timid voice behind him; he turned round to Blaze having begging eyes.
"What?" Sonic asked in confusion,
"Please. Will you sleep in here with me tonight?....... I'm afraid"
"Of what the dark?" Sonic asked though he found it hard to believe that a strong girl like her would be scared of the dark,
"No...... Of losing you... I'm afraid if something might tear us apart again... Please stay with me" she pleaded eyes getting close to tears again. Sonic understood, he didn't want to be separated from her either, but she had a life of solitude and just found her soul mate which before was used to being separated from. Sonic turned back to her and smiled contently,
"Again. If that's what the princess desires. Yes. I'll stay and protect you" he said softly, he then bowed out of respect for her wish, Blaze's adoring smile returned
"Lemme just go blow out the fire and turn out the light" Sonic turned back round and went into the lounge. The light switch was just beside the entrance to his bedroom, the light vanished only leaving the fire illuminating the room he was going to walk to the fire but Blaze swished her finger and the fire instantly disappeared. Sonic jumped and looked back to see Blaze having a smug smile again,
"Heh, gonna be hard getting used to that" Sonic chuckled Blaze maintained her smile.

Sonic walked back into his bedroom with Blaze still standing.
"Alright now we can turn in" Sonic said sounding relieved,
"Ahem!" Blaze said Sonic looked at her as she presented herself with both hands,
"Please" she asked seriously, Sonic got the message,
"Oh right sorry" he said quickly and turned round and covered his eyes. Blaze took off her cloak and her high-heels and slipped into Sonic's bed, once Sonic heard her slip in he turned round. When Blaze snuggled in she became mesmerized and daydreamy when she sniffed, it was like every scent in the world was contained in this one bed. Salt water from the sea, mountain atmosphere, luscious gardens, various spices and sweets from food from all around the world but a heavy scent of chilidogs dominated those, it was beautiful, like the most attractive cologne in the world, he didn't just wear those scents he lived them. The bed was so comfy and soft she found it easy to relax in any position but Sonic didn't know that.
"Is the bed comfy enough for you, do you need any more pillows or blankets or anything?" Sonic asked kneeling down to look at her eye to eye,
"No thank you, the beds perfect... You're perfect, everything is perfect I couldn't be happier!" she squeaked in glee,
"And I'm gonna make it stays that way gorgeous. All I want to do now is make you happy" Sonic said stroking her cheek and Blaze purred loudly.
"Hmm you're so cute when you're all snug in bed" Sonic cooed, Blaze giggled, Sonic went over and picked up his blanket and pillow again and laid them on the floor next to the bed. Blaze giggled again,
"Do you always treat your guests like this?" she asked happily, Sonic scratched the back of his head and smiled,
"Well... Ha ha actually, you're the first guest I've had." Blaze sat up keeping the dovea covering her body and looked down in slight shock
"What I'm the only guest who's slept here?" she asked as Sonic was starting to lie down.
"Yeah I never really found the need to offer, and anyway nothing much to do here, I mean there's no machines for Tails to work on, Knuckles can't stay because of the master emerald and I DON'T even wanna think what would happen if Amy stayed here." Sonic shuddered at the thought, Blaze blushed she couldn't believe how much she meant to him, she counted the points. She was welcomed to his world, been given a tour by him, had been invited into his home and to be the first one to sleep in it, and to top it all off he loved her, she felt like the luckiest girl in the world, she wasn't just a princess to him she was like the queen of his heart.

Sonic lay down and looked up out of the skylight again seeing the stars and the moon but they didn't seem as beautiful as Blaze... Not anymore.
"Ahh this is great. Beautiful night, beautiful girl, what could be better."
Sonic said putting his hands behind his head and breathing out peacefully.
"Yeah, and it isn't even Christmas yet" Blaze said in agreement. Sonic clicked she was right it was nearly Christmas, he panicked for a second then had a brainstorm and quickly came up with an idea... And a plan.
"Alright Angel, I'm gettin some shut eye (yawn) Goodnight" Sonic said sounding drowsy, Blaze smiled with affection, she lent over the bed side and kissed Sonic
"Goodnight handsome, I love you" Blaze cooed still nose to nose with Sonic,
"I love you too" Sonic said quietly then closed his eyes. Blaze giggled softly to not disturb her heroic hedgehog from his slumber, she got back on the bed but she couldn't sleep, her heart was still racing still trying to take all this in, Sonic the hedgehog loved her, they were together no catches that's it, after half an hour she started to feel the fatigue, she lent over and took one last look at Sonic he was asleep he even looked handsome then, cute even. She leaned over more,
"Goodnight Sonic... My prince" she said quietly and kissed him on the cheek, Sonic's face rustled and nose twitched slightly, she tried not to giggle, she laid back on the bed and closed her eyes, as she sniffed the luscious mountain of many scents again it became a sort of a relaxant and in a few moments she fell asleep, going into her dreams... But what was better her fantasy or her reality?... Or had they became the same thing now? When Blaze went to sleep and stopped stirring... Something else did.

The morning had come, 25th of December, Christmas day. It was 9:30 am and the early morning sun emerged from the clouds and shone through the skylight and into the house of the famous blue hedgehog, and placed itself right into the eyes of the hedgehogs newly found love the lilac feline Blaze. Her eyes flickered as the sunlight woke her for a second feeling down thinking it had all been a dream, but when she smelt that new yet unmistakable scent her hopes began to build again, she opened her eyes her hopes built even more noticing she wasn't in her palace back home. All she needed now was the ultimate piece of evidence seeing her blue hero on the floor, when she leaned her seemingly heavy body over to look... Her hopes dropped... The sheet where he had slept was empty. But something caught before she was thinking of going into despair, there on the pillow lay a piece of folded paper she leaned over picked it up laid back on the bed and read it, it said...
"Sorry Blaze had to run got important business that can't wait. It's gonna take me a while. Sorry for just running off, it just couldn't wait. I'll see you at the party, it's being held at Tail's place, don't worry I've told him you're here, he'll be coming round to take you to his place at 12ish, he needs help decorating and getting things ready. But until then do whatever you want; the house is all access to you. I'll see you later... And don't worry I didn't tell him about "us" just in case you didn't want me to, but if want to tell him that's alright with me. I'll see you tonight baby. I love you.

Her heart began to race again, she clutched the letter to her heart and breathed a sigh of relive, it really happened, her and Sonic did become a couple last night. After a minute of taking in her new happy twist in her life she climbed out of bed, she grabbed her clothing and walked into the bathroom she set them down and stepped into the shower and washed herself, all the way through still feeling giddy about finding her love and occasionally diving into short images and daydreams of her and her speeding sweetheart.

After 20 minutes of showering she stepped out of the shower found a towel and began to dry herself though weirdly she found a hair drier and used it she figured that might be one of the reasons she found him so handsome. After finished drying she put her cloak back on and slipped her high heels back on and stepped out of the bathroom. She saw a clock on the kitchen wall which said 10:15 so according to Sonic's letter she had about one and three quarter hours to herself until Tail's arrived to take her to his home and start preparing for the party. She was a little nervous she had never been to a Christmas party before but if Sonic promised to be there for her she wouldn't be intimidated.

The first thing she did was get the blanket that Sonic had slept in and the towel she had just used and put them in the washing machine in the kitchen, might as well do something to pass the time. She just inspected the rooms more, blowing off dust on a few shelves which held up a few items from Sonic's passed adventures, she looked upon the ring that Chip gave to Sonic when he said goodbye to him, the fake chaos emerald from when he had to shut down the eclipse cannon, his blue star mk II and sunglasses for extreme gear riding, his gold medals, one for the 100 and 400 meter dash, and one for snowboarding and speed skating in the winter Olympics, a rose in a plant pot from Merlina the wizard from the world of king Arthur, the feather from the Princess of soleanna but he didn't seem to care much about that due to condition it was in all broken and messy. She decided not to barge in on Sonic's private life and chose to move on. She stepped outside the house feeling the cold atmosphere mixed with the warmth of the morning sun, she heard robins singing in harmony as if they were giving her their official welcome to her new outside world. She looked around, the ground was covered in snow which sparkled in the sunlight, the front garden was just lawn surrounding the house but a cobble path ran through the middle leading to the door, she wanted to go for a walk but dared not to in case Tails came early, she saw a flower bed to her right which was covered in snow since they were Sonic's she didn't want them to die so she walked over to them, she ignited her hands and held them close but not enough to burn them and happily watched the snow melt rexposing the flowers to the warm energy of the sun. She always did have a soft spot for gardening she just found it more pleasing because they were Sonic's. She then decided to go back inside and decided to wash up the cups that they had for coco last night and leave them to dry, she then moved her attention back to the blankets and towel she had washed, once they were finished instead of hanging them out to dry she used her intuition and ignited her hands and dried them manually. She held her hands close to them being careful not to get too close and start a house fire. Once they seemed dry enough she put them back in the wardrobe neatly, then she just laid down on Sonic's bed once again immediately sniffing that entrancing scent, since she thought there was nothing else to do she let the scent act as her relaxant again and drifted off for a nap dreaming of nothing but her and Sonic by beaches, but was interrupted by a knock on the door. She woke up startled she jumped off and rushed into the lounge she checked back to the clock and indeed it read 12:19 it must of been Tails and when she opened the door sure enough there stood the two tailed genius smiling away.
"Hi Blaze! Merry Christmas glad to see you finally made it back to our world it's good to see you again" Blaze didn't know how to respond so she just tried the basics,
"Hi Tails it's good to see you again too" she said and smiled back.
"I trust you know why I'm here?" Tails continued,
"Yeah you're here because you need help with the party" she answered
"Yeah. Come on we don't have much time" Tails said insisting they set off now,
"Uh... Ok" she said sounding nervous, from not knowing what awaited her.
